The Accountant General compiles the monthly accounts of the Government from the vouchers furnished to it every month by all the treasuries of the state, the compiled accounts submitted to it by all PWD, PHE and Irrigations divisions and by incorporating all inter government transactions. The monthly accounts are submitted to the Finance Department.

The accounts for the whole year are reconciled with departments and aggregated to prepare the Finance and Appropriation Accounts which are presented to the Governor of Chhattisgarh who causes them to be tabled in the Vidhan Sabha.
